No Undies Sundie

And I was going to be there at opening.

A Melbourne pub is reportedly being investigated after promoting an event promising $50 worth of free drinks to women who take off their underwear and hang them on the bar.

The Saint Hotel in St Kilda is also offering its female customers one free drink if they "flash" bar staff, the Herald Sun reports. "No Undie Sundie", which is scheduled for this Sunday, has incurred the wrath of authorities.

"On the face of it, it looks like an inappropriate liquor promotion and we will be investigating with a view to banning it," Liquor Licensing Victoria director Sue Maclellan was quoted as saying.

Port Phillip mayor Janet Cribbes has also slammed the event, saying it "fuels the fire for irresponsible drinking" and puts young women at risk of sexual assault.

Editorial director of the Australian Women’s Weekly Deborah Thomas told the Nine Network’s TODAY show she hoped no women turned up to the event.

"It's like, 'Come on down, flash your undies and we will get you totally pissed.' What is going on here?" she said.

An ad for the event — which reportedly featured an infamous picture of Britney Spears exposing too much of herself while stepping out of a car — also sparked complaints.

The ad has since been removed from the website of the event’s promoters, Birdhouse Promotions.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I think I'll skip the free drink and keep my undies on. Besides, I'm sure the other people in the bar will prefer it that way. ;)

No way would that have been for me! Somehow I think I would have felt cheap just walking in there.
